Coq d'Argent
About Coq d'Argent
A French restaurant and bar with a rooftop garden terrace and lawn above Bank junction, one of the City's longest-running rooftop spots.
History
Coq d'Argent opened in 1998 on top of No 1 Poultry, the postmodern office building designed by James Stirling, opposite the Bank of England.
Its roof garden made it a pioneer of City rooftop dining long before the area's newer skyscraper bars arrived.
What to Expect
During the week it is a business crowd at lunchtime and after work. You can just have a drink on the bar terrace, while the restaurant is best for special occasions. Smart-casual dress is recommended.
